Young people invited to Get Started In Sustainability
Greener Kirkcaldy is hosting a course to help young people learn about the climate emergency and sustainability. Get Started in Sustainability is a free one-week programme run in partnership with The Prince’s Trust Scotland.
The young people will gain a range of skills. These include cooking, growing food, energy use and bike maintenance. They will learn about the different roles within the sustainability sector. In addition, they will be able to improve their confidence and interview and teamwork skills.
Rebecca Petford, Programme Manager, Greener Kirkcaldy said: “Sustainability is a wide-ranging sector with lots of different job opportunities. This course is a great way to find out about the huge range of roles that are available, and gain important employability skills at the same time.”
The course is aimed at young people aged 16-30. It starts on Monday 18th September with a taster session on Tuesday 12th September. It’s based at Greener Kirkcaldy’s community building at 8 East Fergus Place.
