FULLY BOOKED Sew and Repair Classes

CLASSES ARE NOW FULLY BOOKED

Would you like to be able to repair, alter or revamp your clothes? We have a new programme of classes to help you learn basic hand and machine sewing skills. Our sewing experts, Claire and Gabbi will also help you practise your skills, repair clothing and get you started with customising and upcycling clothes. The classes are suitable for beginners starting out with sewing, or those looking to refresh their skills. Tools and equipment will be supplied

Booking is required as spaces are limited. To book your place or for more information contact us on 01592 858458, email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk or drop into our High Street Hub at 254a High Street Kirkcaldy, Wednesday to Saturday 10am – 4pm.

 

Class 1: Basic Hand Sewing Skills

Monday 8th May, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, St Bryce Kirk Centre

Learn different stitches, how and when to use them, and practise on something you can take away. Our sewing experts will also advise you on what equipment you need to start your own basic sewing kit.

 

Class 2: Basic Machine Sewing Skills

Monday 15th May, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, St Bryce Kirk Centre

Bring along your machine and learn how to you use it, try basic stitches and learn how and when to use them, and practise on something to take away. You can also come along if you don’t own a machine as we have spares to practise on.

 

Class 3: Clothes Repairs – Hems and Shortening

Monday 22nd May, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, St Bryce Kirk Centre

Our sewing experts will teach you the skills to make these simple alterations so you can reuse your favourite clothes for longer. Bring along an item of clothing to practise on.

 

Class 4: Clothes Repair – Rips and Tears

Monday 29th May, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, St Bryce Kirk Centre

Our sewing experts will teach you the skills to repair these issues, so you can reuse your favourite clothes for longer. Bring along an item of clothing to practise on.

 

Classes 5 and 6: Upcycling and Customising Clothes

Monday 12th June, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, St Bryce Kirk Centre

Monday 19th June, 6.30pm – 8.30pm, St Bryce Kirk Centre

Sewing experts Claire and Gabbi will give you tips and advise on upcycling clothes and teach you skills to customise so you can reuse your favourite clothes and turn them into something new and unique. Bring an item of clothing along to practise on.
