Indian cuisine is distinguished by its daring spices, diverse ingredients, and regional varieties of dishes. Its vegetarian convention, diverse bread offerings, street food, and the principle of using food to heal make it an exceptional and captivating cuisine.
You will make:
- Vegetable pakoras (Gluten – free): made with vegetables bound together with a mixture of gram flour and rice flour, both good source of fibres. Once you have perfected this recipe, you will see they are a great recipe to impress your friends and family with.
- Cardamom Butter Chicken: a rich blend of spices made into a creamy sauce, makes this a very popular aromatic but mild curry (Vegan and Vegetarian options available also).
We will also demonstrate how to make Masala Chai – a lovely warming spiced tea that is India’s most popular hot drink.
This workshop will be led by Kat Riach. Kat runs her own bakery at Lochaber Farm. She is a passionate breadmaker and loves sharing her skills with others. Kat also works with Greener Kirkcaldy.
This is a hands-on cooking class where you will be touching, tasting, and cooking food. Please bring containers so you take the food you make home.
If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, or if you would like to talk about any of the ingredients we will be using in the workshop, please let us know when you are booking.
This event takes place in our Lang Spoon Community Kitchen in Greener Kirkcaldy’s Community Building. Find out how to get here.
