A Taste of Tuscany
Saturday 24th February : 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
£36 – £60

Traditional Tuscan cooking uses fresh and seasonal ingredients to bring out the natural flavour of the dishes. The cuisine is hearty and made with simple ingredients that are local to the region.
Join us for our Taste of Tuscany workshop where we will make 3 authentic Tuscan dishes.
- Ribollita: a traditional bean and vegetable soup
- Schiacciata: a Tuscan style bread similar to focaccia
- Tortelli di patate: fresh pasta filled with potato, cheese, garlic and tomato. Served with sage butter sauce.
We’ll make fresh egg pasta from scratch and discuss a range of different ways to use this. We’ll also taste a delicious Tuscan dessert. All recipes are suitable for vegetarians and can be adapted for vegan diets too.
Our workshops are fun and informal, our tutor will support you to prepare the recipes. We’ll chat about Tuscan dishes and ‘cucina povera’ – making the most of local, simple ingredients.
This workshop will be led by Jackie Vural, an enthusiastic cook of many cuisines with a passion for Italian food. Jackie has worked with Greener Kirkcaldy for many years and loves sharing her skills.
Some cooking skills are required to enjoy this workshop i.e. basic knife skills. Please bring some containers to take home your food.
If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, or if you would like to talk about any of the ingredients we will be using in the workshop, please let us know when you are booking.
This event takes place in our Lang Spoon Community Kitchen in Greener Kirkcaldy’s Community Building. Find out how to get here.
