2024-25 was a year of impact for Greener Kirkcaldy. We celebrated five years in our community building at 8 East Fergus Place. Lang Toun Cycles Community Bike Shop evolved into an Active Travel Hub, helping people to walk and cycle with confidence.
We engaged with over 16,805 people through a wide range of activities and events throughout the year. And we supported 2,580 households in Fife with energy advice, helping them to save over £1.65 million.
Key stats:
- 139 volunteers gave 6,174 hours of their time
- 16,805 people took part in our activities and events
- 464 bikes repaired and serviced by Lang Toun Cycles
- 2,580 energy advice sessions through telephone calls and home visits
- 1,512 handy service visits, helping households save energy through measures like LED light bulbs
- Over £1.65 million in financial savings for households
- 434 frontline workers trained in basic energy advice
- 15 tonnes of good food redistributed through the Lang Toun Larder and Community Fridge
- 10 organisations received grants to tackle the climate emergency in their community
- Our activities saved 78,989 tonnes of carbon dioxide (equivalent)
