Volunteer Open Evening
Wednesday 16th January 3pm – 7pm Greener Kirkcaldy Advice Centre
Have you always thought about volunteering, but never got round to it? Are you really keen, but a little unsure if you’ve got enough time? Our volunteer open afternoon and evening is a great opportunity to find out more and be inspired to come and volunteer with us.
People volunteer for many reasons, and they get many different things out of it. What’s true for everybody is that volunteering can be a really rewarding, useful and fun experience. Volunteering is a great way to gain experience and new skills that improve your chances of finding the job you really want. Some people want to volunteer as part of an award they are completing, and others do it for the sense of well-being they get from putting something back into the community. It’s also a great way to build your confidence and to meet new people and socialise.
We have some volunteers that contribute a whole day every week, and others that come along to help out once a month – any time people can offer us is valuable. We also have volunteers who come along with no idea about green issues, and others that are experts in their field. The volunteer open evening is a chance to find out what opportunities we have that will suit YOU, fits in around your life and offers you the benefits you want to get out of it. There’ll also be the opportunity to talk to present volunteers to find out what volunteering with us is like.
This is a drop in session so come along anytime between 3pm and 7pm and stay as long as you like.
