Climate Friendly Garden at 8 East Fergus Place
We’re creating a climate-friendly productive back garden at our community building at 8 East Fergus Place.
The garden has an ecological focus. We are working to grow our own fruit, vegetables and herbs, as well as cut flowers. We also want to creatively recycle and repurpose items to use in the garden to save waste.
Our gardeners will try out new ideas and methods to reduce our impact on the changing climate, for example by making our own peat-free compost. We’re also gardening in a way that makes the space more resilient to storms and drought.
Gardens are great places for health and wellbeing. They are vital spaces that can support biodiversity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions from the atmosphere.
