Our community building at 8 East Fergus Place, Kirkcaldy is open to the public Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9:30am – 4:30pm, Wednesday 12pm – 4;30pm and Friday 9:30am – 3pm. We’re less than five minutes walk from both Kirkcaldy train station and Kirkcaldy bus station, next to Fife Voluntary Action New Volunteer House. There is limited disabled parking on site.
As well as housing office space for our staff, the building offers a large events space, our Lang Spoon Community Kitchens and a kitchen garden. We run a number of events, classes and workshops in our events space and community kitchen throughout the year. See our events page for more information. Our Lang Toun Larder community pantry, Community Fridge and Cosy Kingdom energy advice team are also located in the building.
Our events space, training kitchen meeting room and production kitchen are all available to hire – find out more.
Come and visit us to find out more about what we do, book on to our events and activities, find out about our volunteering opportunities, or book a home energy advice visit.
We opened our new building at 8 East Fergus Place in April 2019 with a series of community open days. Over three days we welcomed almost 300 visitors. We were joined by special guest, Jamie Scott, Head Chef and Patron of the The Newport Restaurant and BBC Professional MasterChef winner from Fife.
We purchased the building at East Fergus Place with a grant from the Scottish Land Fund, a Scottish Government initiative which gives funding and support to help communities take ownership of land and buildings for projects to benefit local people. The refurbishment was funded by a grant from The National Lottery Community Fund’s Community Assets programme as part of our Community Food Hub project. The refurbishment was carried out by local builders, John Smart & Sons.
