An introduction from Greener Kirkcaldy’s new Chief Executive
I’m thrilled to introduce myself as the new Chief Executive of Greener Kirkcaldy. This is a fantastic charity that makes a real difference in our community.
I first became involved in the organisation when I moved to Kirkcaldy ten years ago. I was looking for a way to get involved in the local community and tackle the climate emergency. I started as a Media Volunteer writing blogs for the website and joined the staff team in 2015.
Over the last ten years I’ve been involved in all aspects of the organisation. This includes everything from delivering community events, cooking classes and cycle rides to leading on communications, funding, development and recently writing our new strategic plan. I love working at Greener Kirkcaldy. I’m passionate about our values and work to bring people together, protect the environment and support people in hardship.
I am delighted to be leading this inspiring organisation on the next stage of its journey.
It’s been a privilege to help Greener Kirkcaldy grow and evolve over the last ten years. We have a fantastic team of dedicated staff, trustees and volunteers. We deliver a varied and inspiring programme of projects. And we work with an amazing community of members, partner organisations and funders. I’d like to thank everyone for their support so far.
My predecessor Suzy Goodsir has left Greener Kirkcaldy in a strong position. I am delighted to be leading this inspiring organisation on the next stage of its journey.
Our new strategic plan
This is an exciting time for Greener Kirkcaldy. We are about to launch our new strategic plan, A Greener and Fairer Tomorrow, Starting Today. This sets out our ambitions for the next five years. Ideas from our staff, volunteers, members and local community have shaped the plan.
We’re unveiling the new plan at our community building open day on Saturday 20th May. Please join us to explore our building, enjoy some food and find out more about our plans for the future.
I want to hear your thoughts, feedback and ideas for Greener Kirkcaldy. Please don’t hesitate to contact me by emailing lauren@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk.
I’m looking forward to working with people from across our community to continue to make a real difference to people’s lives.
Lauren Brook
