Middle Eastern cuisine brings together centuries of culinary influence from the Greeks, Romans, Ottomans and Arabs. It’s known for its generous use of fresh herbs, grains, spices, olive oil, legumes and vegetables – food that’s colourful, fragrant and designed to be shared
Join us for a relaxed, hands‑on workshop where we’ll prepare a selection of vibrant vegetarian dishes before sitting down together to enjoy the feast and chat about the Middle Eastern approach to eating: sociable, generous and full of small plates made for sharing.
On the menu:
- Ful medames — a comforting fava bean stew with tomatoes, herbs and olive oil
- Baba ghanoush — smoky baked aubergine blended with garlic and lemon
- Green herb falafels — crisp, fresh and packed with flavour
- Shakshuka — eggs gently poached in a spiced tomato and pepper sauce
- Harissa roasted carrots with yoghurt and dukkah — sweet, savoury and warmly spiced
- Fatayer — soft pastries filled with feta and herbs
- Fattoush — a bright Lebanese salad with toasted pitta and sumac
- Basbousa — an orange and cardamom semolina cake
- Ma’amoul — delicate walnut, cinnamon and orange‑scented cookies
All dishes are suitable for vegetarians.
Our workshops are friendly and informal, with plenty of guidance from your tutor as you prepare each recipe. You’ll leave with new skills, fresh ideas and a delicious appreciation of Middle Eastern flavours.
