Learn to cook a delicious meal together in our Community Kitchen.
Just ahead of the new term starting, we are running two Parent and Child Cooking Classes to provide an opportunity for parents and their young people to cook together, learn new skills, and have fun in our fabulous training kitchen. Each ticket provides access to the parent and up to two children between the ages of 8 and 16
The aim of these classes is to provide young people with cooking skills they can go on to use independently, and that will stay for life. Teamwork between the parent and child(ren) will be key to success, and each partnership will cook some simple dishes to take home. We will be working out measurements and quantities, exploring new flavours, and using seasonal ingredients. Where possible we will make use of produce from the Greener Kirkcaldy Community Garden.
Each family will share a station and set of ingredients, and prepare:
- A pot of lentil Bolognese
- Focaccia, using our special one-hour recipe
- Salad and dressing to accompany the meal
This workshop is suitable for families with all levels of cooking experience.
