September at Ravenscraig Walled GardenPosted on 8th October 2018 by Tony Carter
September got off to a wonderful start for the garden volunteers, with a visit to the Dundee Flower show. There was a lot to see at the event, from alpacas and Indian style dancing, as well as champion fruit and vegetables.
The high winds in September only caused a small amount of damage in the gardens, and the volunteers just had to do a few repairs to an apple tree, before it was back to work with the normal autumn tasks of harvesting and tidying up.
We also had a visit from a group who were learning English as a second language.
Followed by our annual volunteer Harvest Celebration!
Then a cider making workshop.
Bespoke or set grocery boxes of local, seasonal veg available fortnightly. Order Tuesday 11th December to collect on Saturday 15th.
Food Works! food and horticulture volunteer training programme starts 21 January 2019. Booking required.
