We’re recruiting for a Community Chef / Trainer
Community Chef/Trainer – 37.5 hours per week on a flexible basis to include some Saturdays and some evenings; we would consider requests for part-time hours; permanent after completion of probationary period; salary in the range of £23,480 to £26,364 + 6% contribution to pension scheme.
Greener Kirkcaldy is a community-led charity and social enterprise working on a local scale to benefit people and our environment. We launched The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen in April 2019. We have created a new post of Community Chef / Trainer to play a lead role in the development of the Kitchen into a thriving community enterprise.
We offer courses and workshops on a large range of world cuisines and cooking skills such as bread making, baking, and lots more. We also offer basic cooking courses, training, volunteer and work experience opportunities, community meals and engagement with our community on healthy, sustainable food.
The Community Chef / Trainer will coordinate and deliver courses, workshops and events for community groups and for paying members of the public. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has extensive experience in food and cooking, and a passion for sharing it widely. You will be a creative cook with lots of ideas about how we can grow our community kitchen, and be motivated to work with a range of partners to make this happen. You will have some experience of working or volunteering in community or educational settings. You must be able to run a kitchen to a high standard.
