Seafield Wildflower Walk
ARCHIVE: September 2011
A little extra knowledge of your environment can make an afternoon stroll so much more enjoyable and rewarding. Plants and flowers can tell us a lot about an area, from the underlying soils and geology, to the human activity and management that has taken place.
Join us on a guided walk around Seafield castle to observe the late flowering plants of the seashore, scrub and coastal grassland. Although autumn is almost upon us, there is still plenty of life about.
The proposed route is flat, though there is the option of venturing onto the edge of the beach.
From the carpark to the castle and back is approximately 2km.
All ages and abilities welcome.
Seafield Beach carpark, Seafield Road, Kirkcaldy.
