Pass it on Week Closet Clearout
Wednesday 9th March, 5pm – 7pm, St Bryce Kirk Centre
Find out about the links between textiles, carbon emissions and climate change, and why passing it on makes such a difference at our special ‘Pass it on Week’ Closet Clearout.
Our Closet Clearout campaign is all about making people more aware of the clothes in their wardrobes. Apparently, more than £5 billion worth of clothes lie abandoned in British wardrobes. By regularly clearing your wardrobe out, you may find clothes that you forgot you had, so stopping you from having to buy something new, or you might find lots of things that you really no longer want or need. Instead of throwing these items away, help keep them out of landfill and in use for as long as possible by passing them on!
Bring unwanted, but clean, gently used clothes, bags, shoes, hats, scarves etc. along to our event and swap for something else or donate them. Got nothing to swap? Come along anyway and browse what’s on offer instead of going out and spending money on something brand new. We’ll donate everything that’s leftover to local charity shops, meaning that everything brought along will be reused rather than wasted in landfill. We’re especially looking for children’s clothes.
This event is free and there’s no need to book.
