COVID – 19 update
As of 23 March 2020 and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government introduced 3 new measures:
- Requiring people to stay at home, except for very limited purposes
- Closing non-essential shops and community spaces
- Stopping all gatherings of more than two people in public
Every citizen must comply with these measures effective immediately.
Following government advice, Greener Kirkcaldy has shut our building on East Fergus Place. We have adapted to other ways of doing our work at this time. More information here. Our Cosy Kingdom Energy Advice Service is now a telephone service. We can help people stay warm and manage their energy bills during this difficult period – call our energy advisors on 01592 807930. Volunteers are at the heart of many of Greener Kirkcaldy’s projects and activities.
Volunteers
We currently have more than 80 active volunteers. Volunteers are at the heart of many of our projects. At this current time, we are unable to recruit new volunteers to our volunteering programmes. Some of our current volunteers are helping us with essential activities and other roles that are supporting our community. Many others are helping out in other ways by looking out for their neighbours and people in their communities. While some volunteers are staying at home, they are still doing a lot for their community and keeping everyone safe.
When it is safe to do, we will reopen our volunteering programmes again. If you require any further information, you can email geraldine@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk
