Spring Foraging for Wild Edibles
The new green shoots of spring are packed full of vitamins and minerals for us to use bringing a refreshing zing to our cooking after winter. Learn how to identify and use garden herbs and plants such as nettles, wild garlic, chickweed and dandelion – and then we’ll discuss how to turn them into pesto, soups and teas.
We will take a leisurely walk round our walled garden wilder areas, identifying which of our common plants can be harvested sustainably to make into tasty spring recipes . Then we’ll return to the garden cabin to have some delicious, fresh herbal tea and make some herbal salad vinegar to take home. The tutor for the class will be Simone Melanie from Solar Ripe.
There will be a mix of theory and practical hands-on activities, including walking around the garden. No experience necessary. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and walking footwear. There is disabled parking on site and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
