Jam making at Ravenscraig Walled Garden
Saturday 8th August : 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
£28 – £35

At Ravenscraig Walled Garden, we love the tradition of preserving the summer harvest to enjoy during the winter months. Our community garden and local hedgerows are full of soft fruit, and this workshop is a chance to share our experience of making the most of it.
This is a hands-on outdoor session where you’ll get close to the source of your food. We’ll start by exploring the garden to pick seasonal fruit and wild berries together. If the hedgerows are quiet, we’ll use fresh produce from nearby local farms to make sure our baskets are full.
What to expect:
- The harvest: Learn what’s in season and how to select the best fruit for preserving.
- Outdoor cooking: We’ll head to the cooking stations at our cabin to transform our finds into delicious jam.
- Practical skills: We’ll cover the basics of jam making, including how to get a good set and how to adapt recipes for different fruits.
You don’t need any previous experience to join in. You’ll go home with plenty of inspiration, our favourite recipes, and your own jar of handmade jam.
Please let us know about any dietary requirements when booking.
