Grow Your Own Herbs
This workshop is an introduction to growing your own herbs at home. We’ll have a mix of practical activities and theory to help develop your knowledge and confidence to get started.
We’ll discuss the different types of herbs you can grow, including popular choices such as basil, coriander, chives, oregano, sage, mint and many more.
We’ll talk about growing herbs in different places such as in the garden, on your windowsill, in pots and in raised beds. We’ll cover the best types of soil to use, sowing and potting on, how to nurture your plants and how to take cuttings.
We’ll also chat about how to harvest and use your herbs, how to dry and store them. We’ll share recipes and try some fresh mint tea.
Your tutor for the morning will be Jackie one of our experienced gardeners who has a passion for growing and cooking with herbs.
No experience necessary, the workshop is suitable for beginners and people with some gardening experience.
