Ross’s Diary – November
by Ross Laird
Now that the nights continue to draw in and there is a chill lingering in the air, you would think that there would be little to do in the garden. This did not hold the team of GK volunteers going out in force to the orchard. The Saturday session was mainly focused around planning the jobs to do in the upcoming sessions, but surprisingly there was still plenty produce to be picked.
It was great to find that there were lots of raspberries (even some golden ones!), and there was also plenty kale, broccoli and cabbages. Not to mention the huge amount of wild flowers which are in bloom!
I recently completed my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition. I am glad that I have completed all sections of my assessment and I look forward to more work with Greener Kirkcaldy!
