We have introduced a range of ways for members to vote at our Annual General Meeting to allow more members to have an active role in our governance. All of our Ordinary Members (those aged over 16 and are resident in KY1 or KY2) can vote in the way that is most convenient for them.
Each Ordinary Member has one vote. Please only use one method of voting.
How to vote in our Annual General Meeting
There are a number of ways to vote in this year’s AGM.
Vote at our AGM
Ordinary members can vote by attending our 2025 AGM and Annual Gathering in person. Bookings for this event close on Monday 20th October.
Vote online or in person before the AGM
If you want to cast your vote online, please use the form at the bottom of this webpage. Online voting closes at 12pm on Friday 7th November.
You can also vote in person or over the phone before the Annual General Meeting. Call us on 01592 858458 or visit our community building at 8 East Fergus Place before 12pm on Friday 7th November.
Proxy vote
You can ask someone else to vote for you at the AGM (this is called a proxy vote). If you would like to nominate a proxy, please let us know by emailing us at info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk before 12pm on Friday 7th November. Make sure you include your name as well as the name of the person you would like to vote for you. Your proxy does not need to be a member but they must attend the AGM in person. Members standing for election
The following members are standing for election at our 2025 Annual General Meeting. There are four spaces on the board and all of the trustees below are looking to be re-elected.
Pat began her career in social work. She then returned to full time study and went on to work in the university sector, firstly as a lecturer and then in senior management – including as a Department Leader and Director of Academic Programmes.
Originally from Dundee, she has lived in Kirkcaldy for over forty years.
Pat has been actively involved with environmental issues for many years. She is a keen walker and hillwalker. Who, in recent years, has turned her attention to long-distance routes in Scotland, England and Europe. She enjoys cooking, reading and keeping abreast of current affairs – particularly environmental issues.
Pat joined our board in 2015. During that time she has carried out several roles including chairing two Board Working Groups and chairing Greener Kirkcaldy’s board for a year. Pat is currently Vice Chair and a member of two working groups.
Since 2013, Matthew has worked in enterprise education supporting both university and college students in transforming their ideas into businesses. He also has useful prior experience of working with third sector organisations in achieving their social enterprise aims.
Matthew has resided in Kirkcaldy for nearly 10 years having moved here from Dundee.
Matthew enjoys a variety of pursuits. During his weekends he can often be found exploring different parts of Scotland either on foot or two wheels (we’re especially fortunate here in Fife with our coastal path).
Otherwise you may find him visiting either Edinburgh or Glasgow for live comedy or music events. He also hopes to return to playing snooker at some point in the near future.
George has enjoyed a long and varied career. He worked first as a High School teacher in Maths and Computing before returning to university to complete a Masters Degree in IT. He then worked for various organisations, including travelling all over Europe, in the IT sector before becoming the Head of IT at National Museums Scotland. George has lived in Kirkcaldy for almost 15 years, coming here as his wife is a Fifer and wanted to be closer to her parents.
George is a keen poet and writer and is one of the founding trustees of ‘Fife Writes’, a charity set up to support writing and spoken word performances in Fife. He is also a keen cyclist and a former member of the Scottish National Committee of Cycling UK.
He loves history (any ruined castle is a magnet) and natural history (a walk in the countryside with his binoculars is common) and if he has any time left, he plays traditional music on whistles, flute, bodhran, and is very much a beginner on theirish pipes.
George first joined our management committee in 2023.
Jim is a retired Chartered Accountant. He spent the majority of his career in public practice, including 25 years running his own firm in partnership with three others. Jim specialised in providing accountancy and basic taxation services to small businesses. He was also involved in the selection and implementation of bookkeeping and accountancy software and processes.
Jim is originally from Perth and has lived in Fife for 15 years, the last ten in the Kirkcaldy area. He first discovered Greener Kirkcaldy when the shop was in the High Street and he was a regular customer of our weekly veggie boxes.
Jim enjoy spending spend with his four young granddaughters. His main hobby is photography and he loves to get out walking with my camera, as well as cooking and listening to music.
