As part of the Festival of Township and Twinning (Wednesday 24th – Tuesday 30th August 2016) we are hosting a ‘Green Day’ in the Town Square in Kirkcaldy with Kirkcaldy4all and Growing Kirkcaldy.
Join us for a jam packed day full of free activities for all the family, including:
- Computer Fix-it Drop-in – bring your laptop, phone or tablet to our IT experts for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Dr Bike Fix-it Drop-in – Bring your bike for a health check from Dave’s Bike Shed, including air, tyres and brakes, and basic repairs and adjustments.
- Sewing and Upcycling Workshop – Try your hand at simple upcycling orr bring along an item of clothing that needs repairing and have a go at repairing it yourself – all with the advice and expertise of our sewing experts!
- ‘Love Your Clothes’ Clothes Swap – Swap, donate and take away clothes, and get tips and techniques on keeping the clothes you love for longer.
- Grow Your Own Herbs Workshop
- Wild Walks around Kirkcaldy
- Home Energy Advice
- And much more!
Growing Kirkcaldy will be showing displays from Floral Art and produce from the town allotments, and there will be a display of the costumes from Kirkcaldy High School’s production of “The Wizard of Oz” – all of which were made out of recycled goods!
We’ll also be joined by stalls and activities from other local organisations including: Peachy Keen and their People-Powered Cinema, The Ecology Centre, Fife Zero Waste, St Bryce Kirk, Hayfield Centre and more.
AND we’ll be giving out free, locally grown strawberries and cream!
It’s free to attend and there’s no need to book for any of the activities, just drop by.
