Across the globe, tapas or “small plates” are an increasingly popular way of serving food. This class will explore dishes from two countries famous for their small plates, China and India.
First we prepare Chinese spring rolls with a sesame salad, then keema parathas from India, served with fresh cucumber raita.
Spring Rolls
This popular finger food is packed full of flavour and texture. We will choose a duck or vegetable filling then master the art of rolling. To go with this we will create a toasted sesame salad with crisp vegetables.
Filled Parathas
Flatbreads stuffed with a rich, flavoursome lamb or lentil filling. To serve, we will make cucumber raita with fresh flavours of mint, coriander and lemon to serve.
This is a hands-on cooking class. All dishes made can be taken away and enjoyed at home. Veggie and Vegan recipe alternatives are always available – please indicate any individual requirements on the form when you are booking.
This workshop will be led by our Community Chef Iain McLellan, a skilled and talented Head Chef with over 20 years cooking experience. Iain is passionate about world cuisines and sharing his love of flavour combinations.
Some cooking skills are required to enjoy this workshop i.e. basic knife skills. Please bring some containers to take home your food.
