Sunday Social – Mosey to Markinch

Join us for a leisurely bike ride. We’ll be cycling from Kirkcaldy to Balbirnie Park in Markinch and back, showing you handy (mostly off-road) cycle routes on the way. We will also show you some routes around Glenrothes. Please note that we may have to change the route because of e.g. weather conditions.

• Distance – long
• Hills – fairly hilly
• Surfaces – mainly smooth, good quality surfaces. Some short sections with slightly rougher surfaces.
• Route – mainly on traffic-free paths, with some short stretches on quiet roads. One very short section on a busy road.

This ride is ideal for people looking to build up their fitness and discover some longer routes in the local area. It will also highlight a quiet route for anyone wanting to commute to Glenrothes or Markinch.

Additional Information

Please note that this bike ride is weather-dependent.

Participants should be able to cycle for 2.5 – 3hrs at a leisurely pace. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Please make sure your bike is roadworthy before coming and wear appropriate clothes for the weather. We will carry out basic bike checks at the start of the ride.

Remember to also bring your own water and snacks.
