In this fun and informative workshop, we will introduce you to basic recipes to make seasonal tarts, classic cakes and scones. We will look at the ingredients and techniques to ensure your sweet treats are light and delicious. We will also learn some basic principles so you can adapt recipes to include variations. There will be plenty of time to discuss, taste and compare notes too.
You will make from scratch:
- Seasonal Fruit Tarts with crisp shortcrust pastry, crème patisserie, fresh seasonal fruit and an apricot glaze.
- A Classic Victoria Sponge filled with raspberry jam and buttercream, perfect for afternoon tea or special occasions.
- Light, fluffy scones ready to serve with jam and cream.
You’ll leave inspired and ready to experiment at home.
The course is suitable for beginners and people with some experience interested in trying out something new.
This is a hands-on cooking class. All dishes made can be taken away and enjoyed at home.
This workshop will be led by Jackie Vural, an enthusiastic cook of many cuisines with a passion for baking. Jackie has worked with Greener Kirkcaldy for many years and loves sharing her skills.
Some cooking skills are required to enjoy this workshop i.e. basic knife skills. Please bring some containers to take home your food. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, or you would like to talk about any if the ingredients we will be using in the workshop, please let us know when you are booking.
