Further to the Government’s recent update on COVID-19, we have taken the decision to postpone all of our events from now until the end of April. Full refunds will be given.
We are reviewing the situation daily and will give regular updates on future events, including new dates for postponed events.
This workshop will be led by Iain Mclellan, Greener Kirkcaldy’s Community Chef and will be the first in a new programme to help bring success to your home cooking. In the workshop you will learn the basics of making a good stock that will add depth and flavour to a range of dishes (vegetable or meat stock option); use a stock to make a seasonal soup; followed by learning how to use stock in gravies, sauces and jus. You’ll leave inspired and ready to experiment at home.
Choice of soup to make – Smokey Cullen Skink or White bean and Truffle Oil.
Demonstration and practical exercise of “Mother Sauces”- Bechamel, Veloute, Espagnol, Tomato and Hollandaise.
At the end of the class participants with have stocks, soups and sauces to takeaway. Please bring some containers to take home your food. If you have any dietary requirements, please let us know when you are booking.
