Herbs for Well Being: Body, Mind and Spirit
As we continue to live during this time of pandemic it can be easy to feel run down and anxious. The good news is that a wide array of plants are at hand to help us through this time. Join Simone Melanie at the Greener Kirkcaldy community garden to learn about how you can use herbs for relaxation and nourishment in this 3 hour workshop.
We will focus on native plants that we can find growing all around us, and learn how we can use them to support our immune and nervous systems to help keep us in good health. As we take a gentle walk around the garden we will learn to identify and harvest seasonal plants, and discuss their different uses and benefits. There will also be a practical session where we will make a sleep pillow to take home, and try some teas and remedies.
Simone Melanie has worked with plants for over twenty years, and has experience growing medicinal plants and making them into remedies, which she has done from her medicine garden in Fife since 2014. During 2020 she worked with Grass Roots Remedies in Edinburgh to respond to the covid pandemic by creating a range of herbal remedies to various communities across the city.
No experience necessary, the workshop is suitable for beginners. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and be prepared to be outside in all weathers!
The workshop will take place at Ravenscraig Walled Garden.
