Foraging walk & wreath-making workshop

In this workshop you will forage for greenery in Ravenscraig Park, then make your own beautiful seasonal and sustainable wreath to take home!

We’ll start with a walk through beautiful Ravenscraig Park, foraging for greenery and seasonal colour and texture for our wreaths. You will learn to ID some trees and plants along the way, guided by our knowledgeable walk leader Sue.

Then we’ll make our way to our community garden at Ravenscraig Walled Garden to create our wreaths, and enjoy a hot drink and mince pie to celebrate the season. Gardener Esme will be on hand with some floristry tips and tricks to help you realise your festive vision!

All additional materials necessary for your wreath will be provided, and the wreath base can be used time and time again!

Tools and gloves provided but you are welcome to bring your own secateurs and/or gloves. Please bring a strong bag or other container to take your wreath away in.

Additional Information

Please note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone, email and any cancellation will be also posted on Facebook if the walk cannot go ahead.

Participants should be able to walk 1-2 miles at a leisurely pace. The route is on tarmac, gravel, and grass. The route is mainly flat, with short sloping sections of path, and steps. Can be adapted to particular accessibility needs (please let us know in advance).

Please wear appropriate clothes for the weather and please wear sensible walking shoes. Please bring your own water and snacks.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is not dog-friendly (except assistance dogs).
