Family-friendly Litter Picking Walk, Beveridge Park

Celebrate the first day of the October Break with a family-friendly litter-picking walk and colourful autumn leaf spotting at Beveridge Park.

Join Rubbish Rangers and Greener Kirkcaldy for a fun morning of exploring nature and helping to keep our park beautiful.

Come together to care for one of Kirkcaldy’s favourite parks and show your loved ones why protecting nature matters. Spend quality time outdoors with family and friends, admire the autumn colours, and make a positive difference along the way.

The walk will be up to 1 mile and will take approximately 1.5 hours. The route is mainly on flat surfaces, including tarmac paths, pavements, and grass, making it suitable for all ages.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that dogs are not permitted on this walk. Contact us if you would like any further information.

Additional Information

Please note that this event is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead.

Dress for the outdoors – wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Bringing water and light snacks for young kids is advised as well. As this event is organised with children in mind, dogs are not permitted.

Litter pickers, high‑vis vests for kids, bin bags, and children’s gardening gloves will be provided. Disposable gloves will be available for adult participants, but you’re welcome to bring your own gardening gloves if you prefer.

Booking Instructions

The event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community.

Our booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. Any information you choose to share about your background is managed separately to information that you give us to process your booking (for example, your name).

Accessibility information

There are accessible parking spaces on site.

Participants should be able to walk or wheel 1 mile at a leisurely pace. The route is on tarmac, grass and pavements/paths. The route is fairly flat.

The route is suitable for pushchairs and can be adapted to be suitable for wheelchairs.

Toilets are available nearby.
