Culinary and Medicinal Herbs
Many of our garden herbs such as comfrey, rosemary and plantain can be used as both food and medicines.
In this workshop we will learn about useful native herbs and plants, and others that can be grown in Fife. We’ll focus on plants and herbs that are medicinal and can also be used in our home cooking. We will help you identify plants that grow wild, some that can be cultivated at home and discuss how they can be used, and you’ll plant seeds so you can take away a pot of herbs with you to grow and use at home.
We’ll be taking a gentle walk around the garden to identify and collect herbs that grow wild, and also spending some time discussing the herbs growing in our herb spiral. The tutor for the class will be Simone Melanie from Solar Ripe.
There will be a mix of theory and practical hands-on activities, including walking around the garden. No experience necessary. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and walking footwear. There is disabled parking on site and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
