Climate Friendly Gardens – Winter Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop

This workshop is free as part of Climate Action Fife thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund’s Climate Action Fund.
We are excited to have Andrew Lear, Appletreeman joining us to lead this workshop. Andrew is a highly experienced fruit tree expert with wide-ranging expertise. He puts 40 years of horticultural knowledge into practice by teaching and advising orchard groups and owners throughout Scotland and propagating heritage varieties of fruit.
This workshop will take place at Greener Kirkcaldy’s community garden and orchard based in Ravenscraig walled garden.
This event is suitable for beginners. This practical workshop will be mostly outdoors but with some initial theory inside the onsite cabin. Hot drinks will be provided. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing for the weather.
Gardening gloves are recommended, please bring a pair with you. Equipment and tools will be provided.

This event is free to attend, but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community.

Accessibility
There are disabled parking spaces on site. Please note the terrain is mostly flat and the paths are gravel. The venue is outdoors with the exception of the working cabin.
This event will usually take place in the orchard area of our gardens which is not recommended for wheelchairs due to steep access and narrow and uneven pathways, let us know if you would have issues getting the the orchard area as we can adapt the workshop to take place in a more accessible area.
