Climate Friendly Gardens – Understanding Soil (soil workshop 1)

Workshop 1 – Understanding Soil
Look after your soil and you have the foundation of a flourishing garden! Taught by expert Dr Liz Lakin, this workshop will help you to understand your soil better, through soil testing, as well as how to improve its structure, drainage and nutrient levels using natural solutions.
Healthy soil is a key part of a climate friendly garden. Soil can slow climate change by storing carbon, which is the main component of organic matter.
To get the most out of this session we will ask you to bring along a small sample of soil from your own garden or growing space. Further instructions will be sent after sign up.
This course is suitable for beginner or more experienced gardeners. We will have a break for tea and coffee during the session.
Whilst these two workshops are designed to complement each other, you can choose to attend just one as a standalone session
