Pan-fried seasonal fish in an oatie crust – with a spiced dressing, and early new potatoes

Local chard and Anster cheese pie – served with seasonal salad.

Sam will demonstrate a classic flummery or sowans (an old traditional Scottish dessert using oats as a natural setting agent) and rhubarb.

This is a hands-on cooking class. All food made can be taken away and enjoyed at home.

This workshop will be led by Samantha Kirk our Community Chef.

Sam has years of experience as a private chef and brings a wealth of culinary skills and knowledge of both local and world cuisine to the Lang Spoon Community Kitchen.

Some cooking skills are required to enjoy this workshop i.e. basic knife skills. Please bring some containers to take home your food.

If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, or would like to talk about any if the ingredients we will be using in the workshop, please let us know when you are booking. All dishes made can be taken away and enjoyed at home.

Accessibility

There are accessible parking bays available outside 8 East Fergus Place with a ramp into the building and level access throughout. There is also an accessible toilet. Our kitchen has an adjustable cooking station for those in wheelchairs or who need to sit while cooking.
