Temporary closure at 8 East Fergus Place

Due to problems with the heating at 8 East Fergus Place we have made the tough decision to close our community building at 8 East Fergus Place until after the Christmas holidays. This includes any external groups that use our building. Most of our staff are working from home. If you need to get in touch please call 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk.
Cosy Kingdom is open as usual until Friday 19th December.
 
Thanks for your understanding. We hope to be able to welcome everyone to our building again very soon!

Below is some advice on where you can go for support while we are closed and over the festive period as a whole.

Where to go for support

Fife Council

Our Fife has lots of information on to get the support you need over Christmas and New Year. The Staying Safe and Keeping Well 2025 booklet (pdf) contains useful telephone numbers and contact information for support services in Fife.

Scottish Welfare Fund: 0300 555 0265. You can apply for a Community Care Grant through Fife Council.

Energy Advice

Cosy Kingdom remains open until Friday 19th December. This is a busy period for our energy advisors at Cosy Kingdom, so we recommend asking for advice as soon as possible. If you need urgent energy advice you can contact Home Energy Scotland, who will also be open on a number of days during the holidays. You can find their festive opening times online. If you need further assistance, please contact your energy supplier.

Emergencies

In a power cut, call 105 for help and advice from your local energy network operator.

If you smell gas or suspect a gas leak, call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999. 

Prepayment credit

If you have run out of credit on your prepayment meter and are unable to top it up you can contact your energy supplier for help. Let them know you have run out of credit and when you will be able to top up your credit.

Make your supplier aware of any vulnerable people in the house, this includes young children, older people and people with disabilities.  Your supplier may be able to help with discretionary credit. This is usually in the form of a loan that you pay back at an affordable weekly rate.
