Sunday Social – Kelpies to Charlestown as Part of the Inner Forth Cycle Route

After last year’s success and popularity, we are running this led ride from the Kelpies again. Join us for a themed cycle ride celebrating the stunning Inner Forth coastline! Starting in Charlestown, we will get the Inner Forth Bike bus to the iconic Kelpies before embarking on a scenic cycle back to our start point. This ride offers a unique way to explore the natural beauty and heritage of the area.

The Inner Forth Bike Bus stops at various points along the Inner Forth Cycle Route. This means you can choose to ride the full route or just a section – perfect for all levels of cyclists.

Route information

Distance – very long

Hills – there is one long hill along this route

Surfaces – mainly surfaced, with some section on compacted earth. This would is not suitable for skinny tyres. Hybrid, mountain bikes, and gravel-style bikes are needed.

Route – mainly on traffic-free paths, with some on quiet roads

Inner Forth Bike Bus Leaves Charlestown – 09:50

Arrive at Kelpies – 10:40

Start Cycle – 11:00

Arrive back in Charlestown –  14:00 (this is to include breaks and stops)

Cycle Inverkeithing to Charlestown – 40min

Additional Information

Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

⁠Medication, if you normally carry an inhaler or EpiPen (or similar) please ensure you bring this with you

– ⁠Water, look to bring a water bottle that fits your bike of day sack

– ⁠Wind/waterproof jacket, always a good idea to bring with you

– ⁠Bike check, check your bike for any issues before attending the cycle on Sunday

The event is free but booking is required. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community.
