This workshop is an introduction to Scandinavian baking with a sweet yeasted dough and a traditional crispbread.
We’ll make fragrant Scandinavian style cinnamon buns to have for fika (afternoon tea) and a multi seeded rye and oat crispbread to eat with hummus or cheese.
On our fun and informative workshop you’ll learn some basic recipes that you can then adapt at home to create a variety of options.
We’ll look at the ingredients and techniques – and how to fit baking into your life.
The course is hands-on – we’ll make our enriched dough and then shape and create it into cinnamon buns. We’ll try out different flours, seeds and spices to create a unique version of the traditional crispbread. There will be time to discuss, taste and compare notes.
You’ll leave inspired and ready to experiment at home.
The course is suitable for beginners and people with some experience interested in trying out something new. Please bring 2 large boxes and a bag to take home your creations.
Vegan versions of both are available – please contact us to find out more.
There is disabled parking on site and The Lang Spoon Community Kitchen is wheelchair and mobility friendly.
