Join us for an off-road adventure! Starting from the rear yard of our Active Travel Hub, this cycle takes us on a full loop of Kirkcaldy and Dysart via as many off road sections as possible – some sections are well known and some are more hidden.

The ride will be led by Greener Kirkclady’s Active Travel Project Manager, David Glover who is an experienced mountain bike rider, racer and multi-day bikepacker. David has a Mountain Bike Leader qualification and as a UKCC Level 2 MTB coach, so you will be in safe, capable hands.

The route map can be found here.

You can download the GPX of the route to your own device.

With riding on all types of surfaces, there will be elevations changes to challenge you going up as well as down, and plenty of chance to share stories and the fun of off-road riding.

Please bring sufficient fluid and snacks to keep you going for 3 hours of riding

Additional Information

Please note that this bike ride is weather-dependent and is not suitable for younger children. 16+ years only.

You should be able to ride a bicycle on un-sealed paths and rougher off road surfaces

You should have an off-road capable bicycle in safe working order. This can be either a mountain bike with minimum 1.75 inch wide knobbly tyres, or a gravel bike with minimum 40mm wide knobbly tyre.

Due to the technical nature of these rides and the increased risks of falls, Cycle Helmets are mandatory for all participants

Riders are also to bring at least one spare inner tube that is the correct size for their bike.

These rides will last until late evening, so working lights front and rear are also required

For advice about lights, inner tubes or if your bike is suitable; please ask in store at Lang Toun Cycles
