Jam making
In this workshop we will share our knowledge and experience to help you make your own jam.
Making jam is a great way to preserve the summer harvest well into winter. At our community garden in Kirkcaldy, we grow a variety. We have strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and apples from the orchard in autumn. There’s always some rhubarb to pick too.
We’ll forage around the garden to pick fruit and wild berries and then turn it into jam. We’ll also look at the principles behind jam-making and how to make the most of different kinds of fruit. Finally, we’ll send you home with recipes, ideas and a jar of tasty jam.
Your tutor for the morning will be Jackie one of our experienced gardeners who has a passion for growing, preserving and cooking.
