Intermediate cycle mechanics – changing gears

Delivered by Lang Toun Cycles’ experienced cycle mechanic.
By the end of the session participants will have removed, checked and refitted (or replaced) all the following drivetrain components on their bike:
- Chain
- Cassette/Freewheel
- Derailleurs
- Cranks/Chainrings
- Pedals
Water, Tea and coffee will be available
Ideally you should bring along your own, clean bike and wear sturdy shoes and clothes to the event that you don’t mind getting dirty
Any replacement parts used will be paid for by the participant at the session – this will be agreed with the instructor before parts are fitted.

You must have some prior experience of mechanics to book onto this event- this could be attendance at any of our previous free maintenance classes or other relevant experience.

*Students (full time), Senior Citizens (65+), eligible benefits (Income Support, Working Tax Credit, Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Income based Employment and Support Allowance, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit). Proof of eligibility may be requested when booking, or on arrival at event.

There are public parking bays available outside the shop on the High Street with level access into the building and throughout. There is also an accessible toilet.
