Hamespun Tales Family Storytelling #2
Sunday 7th February : 11:00 am - 11:40 am
Discover the magic of tradition oral storytelling with Fife storyteller, Sheila Kinninmonth of Hamespun Tales.
In this storytelling session, Sheila will tell us the story of Mikku and the Trees from Estonia, followed by a Chinese tale, The Mirror of Truth. This event “straight frae the mooth” promotes a positive sustainability message.
“My passion for stories began at my granny and grandfather’s knee where I listened to tales “straight frae the mooth”, and continues to this day”. Sheila Kinninmonth
Born and brought up in Fife, stories and storytelling have been part of Sheila Kinninmonth’s life for as long as she can remember. While she has a wide repertoire of traditional stories from all over the world covering many topics and themes, she particularly loves telling Scottish Folk and Fairytales, in Scots when appropriate.
With a background in early years education, she believes storytelling is a vital learning tool for all children, not only helping meet many Curriculum outcomes, but also passing on our rich heritage and culture.
The event is free but booking is required as places are limited. We’ll send out a Zoom joining link to attendees a few days before the event. If you have any problems booking, or any questions, please phone 01592 858458 or email email@example.com.
