Food Works! – 8 week Practical Food training course (fully booked)
21st January, 2019 : 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Monday, repeating until 11th March, 2019
Food Works! Greener Kirkcaldy’s volunteering and employability project, offers local people in Kirkcaldy, food and horticulture volunteer training opportunities. Our Food Works! programme is about building confidence, developing knowledge and improving skills in food and growing which will help participants into education, volunteering or employment.
The programme starts on Monday 21st of January and will run for 8 weeks. Participants will take part in a practical cooking programme covering all aspects of food and cooking skills and will include lunch.
We’ll also provide access to accredited courses i.e. First Aid at Work, and Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Elementary Food Hygiene and Elementary Cooking Skills. This course also includes time cooking with a chef at Fife College and a visit to a local food producer.
Our programmes are held in a friendly working environment which helps mirror many aspects of a workplace. Participants can also volunteer with us to build on their experience and learning.
No experience is required – if you are looking to learn some skills, get some practical experience and training, we’d love to hear from you. We’re particularly keen to work with school leavers too.
