Family pond exploring
Come along and find out about the animals we share our gardens with.
This event is all about ponds and the diverse creatures that make up the eco-system around it. You will learn what makes a good wildlife pond and we’ll do some pond exploring and dipping to find and identify what is living on, around and under the surface.
We’ll give you some ideas that you can then take back home to your own outdoor space like creating a new pond, building a hibernacula (amphibian refuge) or creating a small area for wildlife. You will leave inspired and encouraged to notice and appreciate local wildlife.
Leading the session will be expert Louise Smith from Froglife’s Green Pathways project which promotes positive activities linked to wildlife and conservation in your local community.
This workshop will take place at Greener Kirkcaldy’s community garden and orchard based within Ravenscraig walled garden.
This hands on practical workshop will be outdoors. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing for the weather.
This activity is best suited for children 8yrs and over.
All children must be accompanied by a paying adult.
