In this class you will be introduced to the Spanish style of cooking, Tapas, which has become very popular here in the UK. Tapas comes from the Spanish word “tapar”, which means “to cover” or “lid”. Traditionally they are small savoury dishes, snacks or appetisers. Being really popular, they are a great way to enjoy many different flavours as a snack or main meal all at the same time! There are many classic Tapas dishes, and in this class, we will be making:
• Pork Meatballs with Patatas Bravas (Vegan version available)
Prepare and cook this tasty dish and learn about Spanish seasoning and different cooking techniques.
• Catalan Style Flatbread with Picada (Vegan)
A classic bread topped with slow roasted tomatoes, spices, herbs and sherry wine dressing and served with Picada which is a fresh traditional accompaniment that is very versatile and full of flavour
• Classic Tortilla (Vegan alternative available)
Create one of the most popular Tapas dishes in Spain and enjoy at the end of the class with some other Spanish accompaniments
This is a hands-on cooking class. All dishes made can be taken away and enjoyed at home, and are suitable for a plant-based diet.
This workshop will be led by our Community Chef Iain McLellan, a skilled and talented Head Chef with over 20 years cooking experience. Iain is passionate about world cuisines and sharing his love of flavour combinations.
Some cooking skills are required to enjoy this workshop i.e. basic knife skills. Please bring some containers to take home your food. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please let us know when you are booking.
