On this walk we will start in the pretty coastal village of Aberdour, taking a peek at the impressive castle before setting off through woods and farmland along the Fife Coastal Path. We’ll end our walk at beautiful St Bridget’s Kirk, with its fascinating gravestones overlooking the sea.

Please note this is a one-way route. Aberdour and Dalgety Bay are well-served by trains and buses. At the end of the route, participants can choose to walk back home independently, or will be guided to nearby bus stops and the railway station serving routes to Aberdour, Kinghorn, Kirkcaldy and beyond.

Additional Information

Please note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead.

Although much of the route is on well-surfaced tarmac tracks, the pavements in Aberdour may be challenging for a wheelchair. If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us for further information and we will advise.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs on this walk, please.

Please wear appropriate clothes for the weather and wear suitable footwear for walking on sand which may be wet/soft e.g. wellies, walking shoes. Remember to also bring your own water and snacks if you feel you need them (there are also shops and cafes in Aberdour and Dalgety Bay).

If you want to know more specific information about the route please contact us. You can call 01592 858458 or email sue@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk.
