Film screening & talk – Gravel Adventures Around the World with Markus Stitz

Come along to the Greener Kirkcaldy Active Travel Hub for a film and talk on gravel bike cycling in Scotland and beyond with adventurer Markus Stitz. We will start the evening with a chat and refreshments before heading upstairs for the film screening and talk.

Great British Gravel Rides is a documentary film in which Markus travels across Britain to portray 25 people and explore what gravel riding means to them. Supported by Schwalbe Tyres, the film offers a snapshot of the British gravel scene and invites audiences to dive deeper into the places featured in Markus’ book of the same title.

Following the screening, Markus takes the audience on a breathtaking journey to gravel destinations around the world – from Canada and the United States to Norway and Spain – sharing stories from adventures on the Cabot Trail, the Mississippi Delta, Gaspésie, the Mjølkevegen and Mother North. The evening concludes closer to home, with insights into Markus’ gravel riding across Scotland’s National Parks and Fife, and the landscapes that form the heart of his latest books.

There will also be the opportunity for you to purchase a signed copy of his latest books, Bikepacking Scotland and Great British Gravel Rides.

The event is free, but booking is required. The suggested donation is £10

Accessibility

The Shop opens at 18:00.

Talk and screening will be upstairs in our large meeting room. This event is not wheelchair friendly, and there is a flight of stairs leading up to the room where the screening and talk are being held.
