DESCRIPTION:Meat Free Monday encourages people to skip meat for at least one day a week to improve their health and help the planet. We’ll be running regular workshops for curious cooks interested in exploring how to switch from meat and poultry in their diet to plant-based ingredients more often. We’re kicking off in June with two workshops delivered by Kirsty and Tony Strachan from Kangus Coffee House in Kirkcaldy. \n \nKangus is a local cafe that has a down-to-earth\, anyone can do it attitude mainly borne from the fact that Kirsty and Tony are passionate about serving tasty plant-based food they and have been running Kangus for a year. \nThey will take you through one of Kangus’s most popular summer soups along with a few fantastic salads. The course is hands-on and all food prepared at the workshop can be easily recreated at home for family or friends to dig into. \n– Pesto walnut pasta \n– Quinoa Greek salad \n– Lemony Spinach and Lentil Soup \nNo experience is necessary however a few basic cooking skills like chopping would be useful. DESCRIPTION:Imagine taking your own freshly baked bread out of the oven – the smell\, the taste and the satisfaction of having made it yourself. \nAt our fun and informative bread making workshop\, you’ll learn a basic recipe to bake your own loaves at home\, and how this can be adapted to create a variety of different types of bread. We’ll look at the ingredients and techniques – and how you can incorporate bread making into your daily life. \nThe workshop is hands-on – we’ll create a basic loaf from scratch\, along with at least 1 variation. There will be time to discuss\, taste and compare notes. DESCRIPTION:Our first themed cooking workshop will be led by Jenny Thomson\, a chef with over 30 years’ experience. Jenny has worked at home and abroad\, ran her own restaurant and for the past 7 years\, has taught the skills and passion she has for healthy home cooking through her own cookery school\, Courses For Cooks in Dunfermline. \nThe Mediterranean includes over a dozen different countries\, all with diverse cuisines. In this workshop\, Jenny will tutor you through a range of flavours from Morocco\, Turkey and Spain\, to create tapas style dishes for 2 people that you will be able to make again at home for friends and family. \nThe workshop is hands-on and will be use seafood\, chicken and vegetables.
