SUMMARY:Cook and dine: Turkish meze
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Turkish meze workshop where we’ll make a range of authentic and delicious dishes and then we’ll get together to eat our creations and discuss the recipes and flavours. \nTurkish meze is usually a selection of appetisers or snacks served before a main course. This can include a variety of dips\, salads\, braises\, cheese and veg which are shared and enjoyed among everyone at the table. \nThe meze we’ll prepare at this workshop will include: \n\nEzme – a spicy tomato and pepper dip\nCacik – yoghurt\, cucumber and garlic dip\nSaksuka – roasted aubergine and peppers with tomato and olive oil sauce\nBarbunya pilaki – borlotti beans served in an aromatic sauce with tomatoes and potatoes\nFava – broad bean dip\nSigara boregi – crisp filo rolls filled with feta cheese and herbs\nMucver – courgette fritters\nMercimek koftesi – red lentil patties with bulgur and herbs\n\nWe’ll serve these alongside some feta cheese\, pickles and fresh bread to complete the meze experience. \nAll recipes are easily adaptable for vegetarians. \nThe Lang Spoon Community Kitchen\nThe Lang Spoon Community Kitchen is part of Greener Kirkcaldy’s community building. We’re based in the heart of Kirkcaldy\, close to the High Street and the train and bus station. We also have a larger community training garden and orchard in Dysart. \nWe host a wide range of events\, courses and workshops on all aspects of food and drink. DESCRIPTION:Korean cuisine bursts with colour\, flavour\, and tradition – from steaming bowls of rice to crisp\, refreshing pickles and the iconic tang of kimchi. At our Taste of Korea workshop\, we’ll dive into this exciting food culture and cook a selection of dishes that showcase the bold\, bright flavours Korean cooking is loved for. \nYou’ll prepare a trio of classic recipes that are simple\, satisfying\, and full of character: \n\nBibimbap – a beautifully arranged rice bowl topped with colourful vegetables\, tofu\, and an optional egg\, all brought together with a rich chilli‑sesame sauce.\nPajeon – a crisp\, savoury spring‑onion pancake served with a punchy soy dipping sauce.\nOi Muchim – a spicy\, seasoned cucumber salad that’s bright\, crunchy\, and incredibly moreish.\n\nWe’ll taste a selection of Korean favourites: \n\nClassic Korean pickles and kimchi – the essential side dishes that bring contrast and balance to every meal.\n\nAll recipes are fully vegetarian\, and the workshop is relaxed\, hands‑on\, and designed for all skill levels.
