SUMMARY:Greener Kirkcaldy at Fife Walking Festival
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to be taking part in the Fife Walking Festival at Lochore Meadows this year. Come along to the drop-in activities we are hosting on the day! \nTree and Plant ID Walk\n11:30am – 1pm\nThis walk will introduce you to some of the many wild flowers and trees in this beautiful country park. We’ll take ID charts and books\, and see how many we can identify. Suitable for all ages – children must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease dress appropriately for the weather\, and wear suitable shoes/boots. The ground may be muddy. \nCafe\, toilets (including accessible facilities)\, and accessible parking are available at the Visitor Centre – please bring your own water and snacks if required during the walk. \nMuch of the route is suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs\, but please let us know about accessibility needs in advance if possible. Please contact us by emailing sue@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk if you require more information about accessibility along the route. \nDr Bike\n10am – 2pm\nBring your bike along for free checks\, minor adjustments and repairs. \nAt Dr Bike sessions\, our experienced mechanics from Greener Kirkcaldy’s Active Travel Hub will check everything on your bicycle from wheels\, brakes\, gears and tyre pressure to lights\, racks\, pedals\, saddles and more. Any minor adjustments we can make\, we do there and then. This may include free replacement of minor wear and tear components where possible. \nFor more complicated repairs that we can’t fix on site\, we will let you know exactly what needs to be done and give you a rough idea of what it should cost at a bike shop. \nA Dr Bike health report will be supplied to customers afterwards.

DESCRIPTION:It’s Halloween and we are heading out into the woods! Amazing opportunity to sample all of the bikes available at Lochore Meadows\, toast some marshmallows and share some spooky stories. \nBikes include: \n\nSide By Side\nDuet\nO-Pair\nRecumbent hand & Pedal trike\n\nThis ride is aimed at people who use or would like to try out adaptive bikes\, their careers\, family & friends. \nMountain bikes are also available to accompany riders using the adapted bikes. \nThere will be training available showing you how to use the various bikes. \nThere will be an opportunity to try various bikes before we head out on a short journey together within the traffic free environment of the country park. \nRoute information\nDistance – Short \nHills – no hills \nSurfaces – A mixture of smooth\, good quality surfaces and sections that are uneven\, with loose gravel. \nRoute – traffic-free paths \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this bike ride is weather-dependent. \nParticipants should be able to cycle for 1 hour at a leisurely pace with breaks. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. \nRemember to also bring your own water and snacks. Hot drinks and marshmallows will be provided\, let us know if you have any dietary requirements. \nIf you bring your own bike please make sure it is in roadworthy before coming. \nIf you want to know more specific information about the route please contact us. DESCRIPTION:Come along for an amazing opportunity to sample all of the bikes available at Lochore Meadows. There are various types of bikes suited to many levels of ability and access.  \nThis ride is for those who would like to try a more accessible bike or would like to learn more about adaptive bikes.  \nBikes include: \n\nSide By Side\nDuet\nO-Pair\nRecumbent hand and pedal trike\nMountain Bikes are also available to accompany riders using the adapted bikes.\n\nThere will be training available showing you how to use the various bikes. and you will get an opportunity to try various bikes before we head out on a short journey together within the traffic-free environment of Lochore Meadows Country Park.  \nWe will have a minibus available to take you from Greener Kirkcaldy (8 East Fergus Place\, KY1 1XT) to Lochore meadows leaving at 6pm. You must let us know if you require transportation. This minibus has standard seating only. \nChildren under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. \nTeas\, coffees and snacks will be available.  \nThis event is part of the Kirkcaldy Cycling Festival. Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to enter the Kirkcaldy Cycling Festival prize draw. \nBooking Instructions \nThe event is free but booking is required.  \nIf you are having trouble booking you can call 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk for assistance.  \nAccessibility \nWe aim to make this ride as accessible as possible for all attending.
