SUMMARY:Buggy walk - Kirkcaldy Prom
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an easy buggy/carrier walk along Kirkcaldy Esplanade from the Esplanade Basin to the “Kirkcaldy Heart” and back. \nThis session is aimed at parents and carers with young children. We will go at an easy pace\, allowing plenty of time to chat as we go. Please bring your own water\, and feel free to join us at Morrisons café afterwards if you have time to hang around for a cuppa. \nOlder siblings are welcome to join the walk on foot or bike\, scooter or buggy board. The parent or carer will be fully responsible for making sure they stay with the group and don’t disrupt other walkers or path users during the session. \nThis is the fourth of our buggy walks and part of our Communities Connected programme. \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather\, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead. \nThis is an easy walk for parents and carers with babies or toddlers in a buggy or carrier. Participants should be able to walk 2 miles at a leisurely pace. The route along the Esplanade is flat. \nPlease dress yourself and your child appropriately for the weather and wear suitable footwear. Please bring your own water/drink\, and feel free to join us at Morrisons café if you have time to hang around for a cuppa after. There are coin-operated toilets in the car park\, and other facilities in nearby shops. \nUnder 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. You can choose to purchase a ticket with a donation. Donations help us do more work in our community. \nOur booking form includes a series of optional anonymous questions. These help us learn more about the people we reach through our events. DESCRIPTION:Come along to this leisurely bike ride\, doubling as a history lesson! We will visit various castles and towers around Kirkcaldy many of which not many people know much about or even that they exist! \nKey info\n\nDistance – Long.\nHills – mainly flat but a bit hillier when heading off-road in the Balwearie area.\nSurfaces – A mix of off-road and tarmacked surfaces. Not recommended for young children or bikes with skinnier tyres.\nRoute – Connects St Serfs Tower\, Ravenscraig Castle\, Balwearie Castle & Tower and Seafield Tower.\n\nThe ride will have several stops on the route\, where our Ride Leader/Guide will be providing lots of interesting information about the sites we will be visiting. \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this bike ride is weather-dependent. \nParticipants should be able to cycle for 2hrs at a leisurely pace with breaks. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease make sure your bike is roadworthy before coming and wear appropriate clothes for the weather. SUMMARY:Sunday Social - Linktown to Hospital
DESCRIPTION:This route takes you from the residential streets of Linktown up past the train station to Victoria Hospital before returning through Beveridge Park. \nKey Info:\n\nDistance – medium \nHills – relatively flat\, with a short hill by the hospital \nSurfaces – smooth road surface. One section of compressed earth with exposed roots. \nRoute – mainly on quiet roads. Some short sections are traffic-free.\n\nThe route is mainly on quiet roads and has short traffic free sections. It is the perfect route to build road cycling confidence. \nAdditional Information\nParticipants should be able to cycle for 1.5 – 2hrs at a leisurely pace. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. \nPlease make sure your bike is roadworthy before coming and wear appropriate clothes for the weather.
