SUMMARY:Lochore walk
DESCRIPTION:Leaving from the Spring into action event at Fife Cycle Park\, this countryside ramble passes through fields and open countryside\, leading to views of beautiful Lochore and the surrounding hills. We’ll look for signs of Spring\, and think about how this landscape is shaped by its industrial past. \nWe’ll retrace our steps to Fife Cycle Park – or there’s an option to continue your walk independently and take a longer walk on lochside trails. \nPlease wear suitable clothing and footwear for the weather and terrain (tracks and fields may be muddy). \nPart of our Communities Connected programme. \nAdditional Information\nPlease note that this walk is weather-dependent. In the event of forecast adverse weather\, Greener Kirkcaldy staff will decide whether to go ahead with the walk the day before. We will contact attendees via phone and email if the walk cannot go ahead. \nParticipants should be able to walk 3 miles at a leisurely pace. The route has some gentle slopes\, and is on paths\, rough tracks and grass. No dogs please (route crosses farmland). \nPlease wear appropriate clothes for the weather. \nUnder 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. No dogs please as the route crosses farmland. \nIf you want to know more specific information about the route please contact us. DESCRIPTION:Let’s get walking\, wheeling and cycling! \nAt our spring into action day\, you will get the chance to try out lots of different activities themed around getting out and sustainably at Fife’s Community Cycle Park. \nIt’s a great opportunity to find out more about what walking\, wheeling and cycling activities are happening in the local area and beyond in 2025. The programme is continuously growing so we will update this page as more is confirmed. \nThere will be a mixture of drop-in a bookable activities. \nOn the programme so far…\n\nBike track and jumps\nPizza van\nNordic walking\nBMX sessions\nE-bike demo\nAdaptive bikes demo\nScrapAntics\nSmoothie Bike\nDr Bike\nBike maintenance “how to” sessions\nCargo bike trials\nOff-road mobility scooter demo\n\nBooking required\n\nPick-up a free fruit tree (fully booked)\nStorytelling family walks\nLochore walk\n\nGetting there\nBus – The nearest stop to Fife Cycle Park is Kingslea Cottage. This stop is a 5 minute walk away from Fife Cycle Park. This stop is on the 19 and 31 bus routes. \nTrain – Lochgelly Rail Station is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute cycle from Fife Cycle Park. \nCar – Please park at Lochgelly High School (5 min walk\, 1 min cycle). If this car park is full there is parking available at Lochore Meadows (20 min walk or  7 min cycle). \nLimited disabled parking only at Fife Cycle Park. \nAccessibility\nThere are six accessible parking bays at Fife Cycle Park. There are toilets available at the venue and the terrain is a mixture of gravel and tarmac.
